Chief Executive Officer
Elisabeth has over 20 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry where she has held senior leadership roles from sales & marketing to portfolio strategy and to R&D management. She brings vast experience of managing international teams and has a proven track record of delivering innovation and new technology introduction from concept to implementation.
Prior to co-founding Clexio, Elisabeth was Senior Vice President of InnoTech, a Specialty R&D unit at Teva Pharmaceuticals in charge of developing new drugs and drug-device combinations.
Menashe Levy, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
Menashe Levy is an entrepreneur, with over 20 years of product development experience and successful track record in progressing new technologies from an idea to advanced clinical development and global commercial stages.
Prior to co-founding Clexio, Menashe served in a variety of executive roles and as cofounder in innovation-driven, successful biotech and combo device-drug companies.
Chief Development Officer
Elena Kagan brings over 18 years of drug development experience, with special expertise in the field of pharmacokinetics. She brings unique ability to identify a medical problem, identify solutions, develop concepts and test them quickly in preclinical models and in human.
Prior to co-founding Clexio, she spent most of her professional life at Teva Pharmaceutical, holding various positions within Global R&D.
Esther Hagai, M.D., Ph.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Esther Hagai has over 15 years’ experience in Drug development both from Pharma and Biotech companies in leading global Clinical development of innovative drugs – small molecules, biologic and cell therapy.
She was previously Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Pluristem Ltd, an Israeli Biotechnology Company developing placental cells for ischemic, orthopedic and hemato-oncologic indications. She built the clinical and regulatory department and brought the most advanced product to pivotal trials taking advantage of early approval regulatory pathways in Europe and US as well as in Japan.
Martin Himmel, M.D., MPH
Head of Regulatory Affairs
Martin Himmel brings over 25 years of regulatory affairs experience and responsibilities which have included products spanning a number of different therapeutic areas, drugs, biologics, devices, promotional review and digital health.
Following a number of years of clinical work, Martin worked at the FDA where he had review and management responsibilities in the Division of Pulmonary Drug Products and in the FDA Office of Drug Safety. After 12 years at the FDA, he moved to the industry where he worked at Merck and then at Novo Nordisk where he held various executive regulatory affairs roles.
Efrat Shalom-Berensohn, LL.M.
Efrat Shalom-Berensohn has over 16 years’ experience in legal counseling both in the academia and in industry. She brings unique expertise in technology transfer, licensing and legal counseling through drug discovery, development and commercialization.
Before joining Clexio, Efrat was the General Counsel, Global R&D at Teva Pharmaceuticals where she served as strategic business partner and supported all activities from discovery to clinical. In addition, Efrat led several major business development transactions, including licenses, collaborations and divestments. Prior to Teva, Efrat worked at Harvard University’s Office of Technology Development as a Senior Associate Director of Technology Transactions.
Head of HR
Orly Eini has over 14 years of experience in Human Resources, across a range of industries including Medical Device, insurance and e-commerce.
Prior to joining Clexio, Orly worked as HR Director at Westpharma, a global manufacturer of delivery systems for injectable medicines. While holding that position, she was responsible for all HR aspects of the company.
Orly holds an MA in Labor Studies from Tel Aviv University and a BA in Behavioral Science & Human Resource Management from the College of Management.
