Jacek C Szepietowski, MD, PhD, FRCP born in 1966, is a full professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology, Wroclaw, Poland.
In the years 2011-2020 he served as a Vice-Rector for University Development of Medical University in Wroclaw; in the years 2007-2011 he was the Director of the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of Polish Academy of Sciences.
He is a President of European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry, Immediate Past President of Polish Dermatological Society and Past Present of International Forum for the Study of Itch.
In the years 2009-2013 he served as Vice-President of the International Society of Dermatology; in the years 2018-2020 as Member of the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
He is a Board Member of International Society of Dermatology, Euro-Asian Association of Dermatovenereologists and International Forum for the Study of Itch. He also served as a member of Council of the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (till 2008). He is a Chair of the Education Committee of International Society of Dermatology and Chair of Project Proposal and Review Committee of European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. Prof. Szepietowski is an author or coauthor of more than 700 scientific articles, 17 books, more than 70 book chapters and more than 300 congress communications. His index “h” (Web of Science) is 49.
He serves as Section Editor of Acta Dermato-Venereologica, Associate Editor of Dermatology, Deputy Editor of Mycoses, and the member of the Editorial Board of numerous journals. Prof. Szepietowski has been awarded with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Caucasus International University in Tbilisi, Georgia (2020). He is an Honorary President of Polish Dermatological Society, Honorary Member of The Scientific Research Sigma Xi Society (USA), Georgian Association of Dermatovenereologists, Georgian Society for Photodermatology and Skin Cancers, Serbian Association of Dermatovenereologists, Belarusian Society of Dermatovenereologists and Cosmetologists, Association of Dermatolovenereologis of Uzbekistan, National Alliance of Dermatologists and Cosmetologists of Russia, Slovak Society for Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology Society of India, Psychodermatology Association of India, Ethiopian Society of Dermatology, French Society of Dermatology and Italian Society of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
His main topics of interests are: itch, psychodermatology and chronic skin inflammation, including hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
